About Us

Agape Distributors is committed to providing the best natural nutrition available for horses, livestock and specialty animals such as bison, elk, yak, moose and deer.  We believe your animal’s health is of paramount importance. Nutrition does play a part in health and healing.

The companies we’ve chosen to work with mirror our desire to simulate an animal’s natural nutrition needs.  None of our products contain starch, sugar or are processed in any way.  Our most popular is  EquiPride and EquiLix for horses.   We also carry the Redmond Naturals, Mountain Sunrise Hay pellets, and the Beet-E-Bites all natural treats.    We are routinely researching new feed products and adding them to our product line when appropriate.  Please let us know if you have a great product for us to consider.

Find out how our products have helped resolve many problems like colic, joint issues or just plain healthy coats and hooves. Click here for our product library.

Did you know that our products help with goats, sheep, cattle, elk, yaks and llamas and alpacas?  The nutritional benefits of our products keep your livestock healthy, build weight, increase milk production and improve the quality of fiber.  We are available for a free nutritional consultation and/or farm visit anytime.

Lisa Rasmussen—Owner/Founder

At an early age, I fell in love with horses.  I remember my first horse birthday party at the age of 4 and couldn’t wait to get my own pony.  Misty, my first Shetland pony, arrived to join me shortly thereafter and became my best friend.  She went trail riding daily with me and even shared an ice cream cone with me after ordering at the local drive-up fast food window.

I spent my childhood on a farm in Wisconsin where my family bred and raised Arabian horses, dairy cows, a few sheep and goats, ducks, chickens and swine.  I participated in 4-H throughout my youth showing horses and sheep.

Although I have always loved animals I became interested in their nutritional needs after several of my horses died of colic and one developed laminitis.  I began a quest of researching and understanding the nutritional needs of horses.  I quickly discovered that good nutrition plays a part in health and healing.  I learned about the problems and diseases caused by processed feed, particularly products that contain sugar, molasses or starch.  As a result, our animals are developing the same diseases that people do (obesity, metabolic issues, and diabetes)!  Additionally, not only can processed feed be detrimental to health and healing, but also in weight gain in livestock.

As a result of my research, I established Agape Distributors to provide good nutrition—God’s way.  My goal is to provide top quality natural and organic feed at an affordable price so that all animals can benefit.

Sandy Golemb-Sales, Marketing and Customer Service

I spent my childhood on a small farm/resort far up in Northern Wisconsin. We were largely self-sufficient and had a variety of animals as well as gardens and wild berries and fruits. We had dairy cattle, hogs, poultry, rabbits, horses, dogs, cats, and various and sundry wild critters that my grandpa occasionally turned up with. Such as a tame crow and a baby muskrat just to name a couple. My Grandma raised canaries and we always had one or more singing throughout the house.   Animals were an extremely important part of our lives and we depended on them greatly.   Although I no longer must depend on animals for my livelihood, I still retain the love and respect for them that I grew up with.

I am most concerned in the area of their health and nutrition. I feel that in some small way I can pay back the animal kingdom for all they provided to me and my family by learning and in turn educating folks on the nutritional needs of animals and their general well-being.   I spent 3 years working in a veterinary clinic and many years working at the University of Wisconsin College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and feel that I learned a great deal from both.

I recently moved to Colorado and currently have 1 horse, 1 pony, 5  Southdown sheep, two Shetland sheep, Llama/Alpaca crosses, several dogs and two cats. One mine, the other a "move in" kitty that just lives wherever it wants to.

I am very involved in the SweetPro nutritional products for all livestock.   I am always pleased and amazed at the stories people have to tell about the differences that these products have made in the lives of their animals.   I am proud to be a part of it. A way to say "Thank You" to all those animals from my childhood.
